Fences in Highfields go to one QBCC-licensed fencer who works there.
Two kinds of block
Highfields began as a rural residential district and grew into a town of its own, roughly 12km north of Toowoomba along the New England Highway. Today it mixes newer housing estates with acreage, and the fencing follows: Colorbond and paling between estate backyards, post-and-rail and wire around larger lots.
Acreage boundaries
A few acres means hundreds of metres of fence, and the cost is mostly in the strainers, posts and labour rather than the wire. Plan gate positions before the fence goes up, so stock, vehicles and the mower can get where they need to. Rural fencing covers the parts that hold a long run together.
Estate fences
On estate blocks, the side and rear fences are often shared with two or three neighbours at once. Agree the type, height and colour first, and use a written notice if anyone is slow to commit. Dividing fence rules explains the process.
Front of the block
Frontages here are often low post-and-rail or slat screens with a driveway gate. A wide gate on a slope may suit a slider; see gates.

Questions from around here
Is this a fencing company?
No. Toowoomba Fencers is a referral line. Your fence details are handed to one QBCC-licensed fencer who covers your area, and they measure, quote and build it.
Does a fencer need a licence?
For building work over $3,300 in Queensland, yes: a QBCC licence in the right class. Rules differ for fencing on agricultural or pastoral land. The licence number should be on the quote.
