A suburb built on change
Glenvale lies about 6km south-west of central Toowoomba. Its north-east corner, beside Newtown, was the Garden City drive-in theatre from the 1960s until it closed in the 1990s, and the site was later subdivided for housing. The showgrounds moved out here in the 1980s, and newer estates have filled in much of the rest.
